  1. I think the location sucks, but I can tolerate any shitty one-off so long as the questions for where we’re going to live in 2017, and the path to long-term NASL stability, are answered.

I loved the Cosmos as a kid. I want my kids to have more than a repeat of my childhood. That means a stable league environment. I don’t want them to become the next Harlem Globetrotters. That would be shameful. I don’t know how they’re going to fix this, and I wish them luck.

They need to move to Brooklyn. They took their eyes off the ball and onto a shopping mall complex. Moving to subway-accessible Brooklyn gives them a tremendous chance to build the fanbase. It’s a step back, but on a much better path. I can’t count how many times I could not convince soccer-leaning friends to come out to Mineola. I lasted about a year and a half before I stopped buying season tickets. It was just too much of a pain to get out there with the kids, and come back late. Paying LIRR on top of the subway got tired quick, and I can’t count how many times we’d JUST miss the painfully infrequent train to Jamaica. People starting shit at the open station, and you could be stuck there for 45-60 minutes waiting for the next commuter train.

And let’s not kid ourselves. None of this would be fixed even if they built their complex; city residents might drive more because of a parking lot, but that’s still a shitty drive/DUI-risk experience compared to plopping onto a subway that leaves every 10 minutes.

  2. Deeply disturbed that the club could not find a better venue. I feel that the current FO has under valued its fan with their silence aboit the clubs future and now the location of the final . I support the club biut this administration can easily make you forget that the Cosmos are relevant. Shameful.

  3. Totally agree with Rebel fighter. When I saw that’s where the Final is going to be played, I thought to myself how can the NASL let this happen. Then thought what does the front office of the NY Cosmos actually think of us the fans. They’ve created such a mess by doing nothing.
