One World Sports, the exclusive carrier for New York Cosmos home matches, has become available on DirecTV. Just days after ending their business with DISH Network, the network has appeared on Channel 623 of DirecTV as of Monday morning, according to World Soccer Talk.
DirecTV has added @ONEWorldSports on Channel 623. NASL more accessible than ever on TV now.

The recent move from DISH removed access to the club from 13.874MM subscribers, including users of Sling TV, but the move to DirecTV potentially places them in front of 20.454MM subscribers, according to reports following the second quarter of 2016.
Some major sticking points in their negotiations with DISH had included making the network available on HD and for it to be grouped with sports channels as opposed to being packaged as an ethnic channel. It appears that they have gotten their wishes as the channel is now carried in HD and may be a part of the provider’s Sports Pack.
The Sports Pack would be a great deal for One World Sports. With a price tag of $14 per month, it’s part of a grouping that features thirty channels including MSG, YES, and fellow NASL match broadcaster beIN Sports.
DirecTV is available in many sports bars across the country. It is also available in Buffalo Wild Wings, the site of the regular Long Island viewing party for the Cosmos. This expansion in access will be a welcome addition to a network that has relied on cable providers like Optimum and Verizon FIOS and other smaller options like Playstation Vue and fuboTV.
Regardless of anything, this is a positive move for the network, the club, and the league and will hopefully make the team more available to viewers in the New York area and beyond.
