Support the unpaid Cosmos staff through GoFundMe

16534062_1480970814-2041By now, you’ve seen the news about player contract terminations coming from Empire of Soccer.

We will cover this and more, but right now, we want to focus on another affected party, the Cosmos front office staff that have gone unpaid for multiple cycles.

This is an effort from the This is Cosmos Country crew to bring together Cosmos fans worldwide to support those truly affected by this period of uncertainty in our club’s future – the front office staffers put on furlough during the holiday season.

While so many of us wear our love for this club on our sleeves, our very livelihood isn’t determined by whether or not the Boys in Green take the field. Just like us, the front office employees are undeniably passionate in their love of the game. They work hard to spread the word and get fans to the games.

The League and owners have made questionable decisions with this club. We can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube, but as supporters, a club, and a family we CAN right one wrong, and give what we can to ensure the families of those furloughed get the holiday they deserve.

We’ll use 100% of funds raised to purchase gift cards at retailers like Amazon, Toys R Us, Modell’s… destinations for online and brick-and-mortar holiday shopping. We’ll dsitribute these evenly among as many front NY Cosmos front office employees as possible, with dollars raised by 11:59 pm ET on Saturday, December 17.

Stand with us and show the global soccer community what it means to wear the green and white, and let’s take care of our own. Every little bit helps.

You can donate here.

Thanks, TiCC

Why doesn’t MLS just purchase the NY Cosmos brand and wait till they have a stadium and ownership group ready to revive it or have RBNY rebrand as Cosmos with RB as their Jersey Sponser?

    Go Sounders!!!!

What are you garber and MLS……

  6. Luis,
I want to express my gratitude for being an endearing cosmos fan and launching the GoFundMe for the team’s unpaid staff. It is an honor to know you.

P.s I was wondering, are the Cosmos girls part of the front staff? They are our cosmos family and wonderful dancers…fans appreciated their dedication and talent.

        • your braggadocio game is strong. good job.
Now, you realize that Indy 11 is not even the best team in Indianapolis, right? Focus on being the best out of your city, then your state state, then the mid-west. Baby steps. The USL will take you there.

          • If Indy isn’t the best team, who is? As far as I know, they are the only professional team in Indy. Besides, you Cosmos fans (used to) have the NASL as your back. How many times did unworthy players on the Cosmos side were Team of the Week? Too dang many.

  7. I just turned 50 a few weeks ago and I remember the glory days and when it all ended around 1984. Used to watch the games on Channel 9 What happened this time around hurts. I hope that when the gifts are given out everyone impacted has a better holiday.
