Cosmos announce friendly in Saudi Arabia against Al-Hilal

The Cosmos announce not one, but TWO friendlies today. Following on the announcement of their July friendly with Valencia in Canada, the Cosmos have announced a May date for a match with Al-Hilal FC of the Saudi Professional League.

Cosmos Notes: Valencia friendly in the works, Mancini departure imminent

Following an initial report from, TICC can confirm that the Cosmos are in discussions to play a friendly with Valencia CF of La Liga at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, Canada, the second year in a row they play a Liga side in a friendly and their third overall.

TICC has also learned that Cosmos midfielder Andrea Mancini will be departing the club shortly and looks to return to Europe. Continue reading

Cosmos COO Erik Stover: Niko Kranjčar unlikely to return for fall; Cosmos roster and friendly news

On Monday, the BBC was told by Niko Kranjčar’s lawyer that the Croatian will undergo a medical with Rangers FC as he seeks to return to European first-division soccer.

Cosmos edge out Eibar in penalties

The New York Cosmos defeated SD Eibar in their friendly in Las Vegas on Wednesday night.  Fielding a heavily modified squad with a surprise or two in it, the Cosmos bounced back from an early 2-0 deficit and forced penalty kicks, before edging them out for the win. Continue reading
