Match Recap: New York Cosmos earn first win of 2017, defeat Miami 2-0

The New York Cosmos were outshot heavily and saved by the upright on two occasions, but hung on to a 2-0 win in Miami, their first of the 2017 season.

Danny Szetela and Ayoze each scored a goal and Jimmy Maurer held Miami silent for his second shutout in three games.

A great crowd, a buzz about the stadium, a pair of performances from reggaeton star Farruko…just about everything went the Cosmos’ way on Saturday night.

Miami FC thrashed the New York Cosmos 3-0 with goals from Dylan Mares and Stefano Pinho sandwiching an own goal from Ryan Richter. Continue reading

Cosmos defeat Dominican Republic 5-1, continue undefeated preseason

On Sunday, the New York Cosmos defeated the Dominican Republic 5-1 to leave the island with a perfect record across their three-game tour. The goals for the Cosmos came off of a Javi Márquez penalty, Emmanuel Ledesma scissor kick, an Irvin Herrera brace, and a beautiful finale from Andrea Mancini. This was also a historic affair, with the Cosmos becoming the first American professional club to face the Dominican Republic’s National Team. Continue reading

After a long and arduous offseason, Cosmos Country finally saw their team take the field in 2017. In their long awaited preseason debut, the New York Cosmos defeated FC Atlantico 1-0 in Puerto Plata. Cardiac Cosmos defeat Rayo OKC 2-1 in the 90th; advance to host NASL Final

The New York Cosmos defeated Rayo OKC 2-1, coming back from a first half deficit to win the match and the right to host the NASL Final at Belson Stadium next week.
