The New York Cosmos defeated Rayo OKC 2-1, coming back from a first half deficit to win the match and the right to host the NASL Final at Belson Stadium next week. The New York Cosmos remained undefeated at home, handing Miami FC a 4-0 drubbing behind goals from Jairo Arrieta, Juan Arango, a brace from Yohandry Orozco, and a shutout from Brian Holt. The win also set a Modern Era NASL record for an unbeaten streak at home with 19 games, breaking their previous record of 18.  Continue reading

The New York Cosmos defeated the Jacksonville Armada 4-2 with a come from behind win that included two Juan Arango free kick goals.

Coupled with an FC Edmonton loss in Minnesota, the Cosmos also laid claim to the 2016 NASL Fall and Combined season titles, giving them the #1 seed and hosting rights to their playoff matches.

Yohandry Orozco: “I want to return to the national team”

TICC2On Sunday, Venezuelan international Yohandry Orozco announced himself to the NASL with his first start against the Carolina RailHawks, and he certainly did not disappoint. Orozco picked the ball up on the left wing, weaving his way through two defenders and rocketing a shot into the upper 90 on keeper Brian Sylvestre for the game’s only goal. Orozco’s energized performance earned him not only league Player of the Week honors, but high praise from his manager Giovanni Savarese. Continue reading
