New York, NY - One Wednesday night, Team representatives for the 2013 Cosmos Copa assembled at Greenwich Village’s own Favela Cubana for the tournament’s Official Qualifying Draw.
It was a great time to catch up and meet new friends who will be competing in this year’s tournament. Many teams have been training since January in hopes of hoisting the Cosmos Copa Cup later this summer.
With many of the players, coaches, and team presidents having a regular job and a family, I cannot overemphasize the work and dedication that each NYC team puts forth. From the paperwork, to the tryouts, practices, fundraisers, sponsorship outreach… each team has their hands full.
Nothing is more beautiful when their communities come out to show their support throughout the Copa. If you’ve never attended the Cosmos Copa, you must.
